At last a company who has started to bring down the price of these life-saving devices. Since most cardiac arrests happen in the home, the obvious place to site an AED, like the PDU 400 is where it is likely to be needed most, i.e. in the home.
For companies (or anybody) who can afford a bit more, the PAD 500P is excellent value for the following reason: For an AED to ‘re-start’ a heart the shock should ideally be preceded/ combined with effective chest compressions; this means compressing the victims chest between 5-6 cm at a rate between 100- 120 time per minute.
Keeping up quality chest compression can be very tiring, however with the help of the PAD 500P it will give instant feedback as soon as you start to flag! You will hear prompts encouraging you to “go deeper” or “faster” etc. No other AED on the market, as far as I know, has this facility. |
